Baker
The Baker is passionate about their craft and highly skilled at creating superior, handcrafted breads, rolls, muffins and biscuits – all made with the finest ingredients – for cruise ship guests and crew members alike.
Requirements:
- baker degree with 4 years of experience in similar positions (Baker, Bakery Clerk, Bread Associate, Bäcker) in restaurants, hotels or on cruise ships
- very good knowledge of ISO quality systems and H.A.C.C.P. procedures
- ability to communicate efficiently with the Executive Chef and the rest of the galley team in English or German
- good communication and presentation skills are mandatory as they will interact with guests during cooking demonstrations for guests
- good knowledge of cost control and quality awareness
- self-motivation, reliability and creativity
- hard working and a team player
Responsibilities:
- prepare bread, rolls, Danish, muffins, and biscuits for guests and crew members
- helps avoid wastage
- lead bakery demonstrations for guests as per daily program
- carefully handle relevant equipment and machinery in the galley
- attends the loading of food, beverage, laundry and other items
